First Image: Rhinestones adorn the neckline of the pink chiffon gown that Dolly wore in 1968 when she received her first CMA Award. Dolly Parton’s book “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones” was a once-in-a-lifetime project that I was fortunate to be a part of. These are a few of the images I contributed to the book. My role was capturing “the details”. 

I’d stand in front of these magnificent garments and have to find the smallest details that needed to be highlighted. I never thought of fashion design as an art form until I started putting Dolly’s wardrobe under a magnifying glass. The hand-crafted bead work and intricate threading details were a wonder to behold. Even the hems of the dresses were worth studying. The folks that designed Dolly’s wardrobe and brought it to life throughout the years have all my respect. And so does Dolly. Dozens and dozens of Dolly’s garments spanning her entire career, along with stories from Dolly herself, are featured in “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones”, the read is very much worthwhile. #dolly #dollyparton A butterfly of rhinestones and thread on the dress designed by Lucy Adams that Dolly wore on the cover of “Love and Music”, her 1973 album with Porter Wagner. This dress was designed by Theadora Van Runkle and worn in the final scene of “Rhinestone” A beaded dress designed by Robért Behar and worn by Dolly for the 2000 ACM Awards where she became the first woman to host the show. The shoes and outfit designed by Debra McGuire for Dolly’s induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999, along with the medal she was awarded. A “Tony Chase” label inside a dress Dolly wore while on tour in the early 90s. One of several dresses made by Western Costume Co. that Dolly wore throughout the 80s both on sage and off Designed by Ann Roth and worn to the New York premiere of “9 to 5” in 1980 A fireworks dress by Robért Behar for a New Years Eve scene in an episode of “Heartstrings” A small heart button on a dress Dolly wore when Captain Kangaroo was a guest on her TV show in 1976. Yesterday, State Representative Justin J. Pearson won a Primary for U.S. House of Representatives. These images were made in July during during a Bedford County Democratic candidate meet and greet. That afternoon several candidates were given the opportunity to speak to a small yet dedicated crowd in an outdoor pavilion in Shelbyville, TN. Near the end a storm bringing heavy wind and rain blew through the area, Rep. Pearson stayed to speak with attendees. Before TN’s voting Districts were redrawn in May of this year due to the results of a Special Session, Rep. Pearson’s District 9 consisted almost exclusively of Memphis. Rep. Pearson and his team had already done a healthy amount of canvassing in the area. After the redrawing, his constituents were now spread throughout several counties along Southern TN, the farthest of which is a county just South of Nashville and 4 hours away from Memphis.
